Nedra Huffey
MSW, RSW, Social Worker - International Adoption
Completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1991, a Bachelor of Social Work degree at McGill University in 1999, and went on to complete a Masters of Social Work at the University of Calgary in 2004.
I have been working with adoptive families and children since 2009, which seemed to flow naturally from our experience of adopting one of our three children. I have focused on assisting families pursuing international adoptions. I have also worked in the areas of refugee and immigrant services, child welfare, program development and evaluation, research and community-based health services.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the adopted children I’ve met, and their parents - the resilience of the children themselves and their parents’ strong love for them.
What are your hobbies or interests?
The time that I enjoy the most is spent with my husband and three children. I also enjoy travelling, reading, and playing tennis.
Why should people come to Adoption By Choice?
I think the social workers’ genuine care for birthparents, children and adoptive parents, and their professionalism, make ABC a special adoption agency.
